Using attachments
On this page:
Overview
Email attachments can include such items as sound, video, or picture files; documents produced with word processing software; PDF files; and many other types of files. When such files are sent via email, they are attached to a normal email message. How you send and open attachments depends upon your mail software.
Unfortunately, email attachments are a primary means of virus transmission, so exercise extreme caution when opening them. Never open attachments from unknown senders, and scan attachments from people you know with antivirus software before opening them. See the Viruses section for more information.
The Imail and Umail services are hosted and maintained by outside partners (Microsoft and Google). For help using these services, see Finding help documentation for Imail or Umail.
